New Employee Orientation (NEO) Homepage
As new employees enter the University of Oregon (UO) their ideas are often big, assumptions are prominent, and the unknown can make them feel somewhat overwhelmed in the magnitude of the institution. The New Employee Orientation website is designed to introduce new employees to the culture and the terrain of the UO experience. Through this resource, new employees can move from mere images of the UO to create a vibrant collage of opportunities to help them succeed.
President’s welcome:
Although I joined the University of Oregon very recently, I quickly came to know that it is the people here who make this university great.
I imagine that many of you were drawn here for some of the same reasons I was. The university is at the forefront of teaching, research, and service. Our students receive a first-rate education and leave with the tools and experiences needed to make the state and world a better place.

I also chose to come here because of the tremendous spirit of this institution, fueled by people like you. It is people like you who make sure the inner-workings of the university run smoothly, who nurture the dreams of our students, and who lead the research found nowhere else. Individually, we are leaders and innovators, and together we create the heart of this university, a vibrant and welcoming campus community that embraces diversity.
Thank you for bringing your talent, experience and commitment to our community. I invite you to explore this New-Employee Orientation website. It’s been designed to help you navigate the unique terrain of our campus. I wish you the best in your pursuits at the University of Oregon.
